Vanakkam Chennai – Anirudh & Arjun to record a song

It looks like Arjuns recent visit to Chennai is paying off. During the trip to the south Indian city of Chennai he recorded his first song in India with Tamil producer Yuvan Shankar Raja for the film Biryani, met his music idol AR Rahman and then “Why this Kolaveri di” producer Anirudh Ravichander.

R&B singer Arjun shot to fame with his English remix of “Kolaveri di” which so far has amassed over 9 million views on youtube. Further covers of popular Indian songs followed, resulting in tours and fans across the globe. Now managed by Crown Music Management, the team behind Jessie J, the talented UK based singer, songwriter and producer balances his time between finishing his debut English R&B album alongside producing music for various independent artists.

Anirudh & Arjun have been in contact and it looks like they will finally be working together on a single. Anirudh got to twitter to announce the news.

Vanakkam Chennai, my next, will have a song featuring the highly talented @ArjunArtist. He’s the person behind the UK R&B version of Kolaveri.

Nothing further has been announced but we know the fans have a few questions. Will the song be for a film or an Independent single release? Will Arjun sing in English or Tamil? Is it a dancefloor anthem or a melodious love ballad? We are excited!

We’re in no doubt that when these two young talented artistes get into the studio together its going to be something amazing.
