Talia Palamathanan, the British Tamil star lighting up London’s theatre-land

Meet Talia Palamathanan, the British Tamil star lighting up London’s West End.

Talia shines as Jennifer Parker in Back to the Future The Musical – one of the West End’s longest-running shows.

Based on the iconic 1985 film, the stage version brings Marty & Doc’s adventures to life with fan-favourite hits like The Power of Love and Johnny B. Goode. Since debuting in 2021 at the Adelphi Theatre, the show has sold over 2 million seats.

Born in London and raised in Bromley, Talia’s family originate from Jaffna in Northern Sri Lanka. Emigrating to the UK in the 60s, Talia & her family revisited Jaffna in 2023 to reconnect with her Tamil roots.

Her first West End break came at just 11 years old in Matilda the Musical. Since then, she’s appeared in acclaimed productions including Pump Up The Volume, Cages: The Musical, Soho Dreams, Teenage Dick, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, and more – as well as TV appearances on The Late Late Show with James Corden and Children in Need.

In 2024, Talia joined the cast of Back to the Future and was crowned Best Newcomer at the Asian Media Awards.

We’re excited to follow her journey as she continues to represent the British Tamil and wider British Asian community on stage and beyond.

We look forward to following @talia_palamathanan promising career, representing the British Tamils & wider Asian community.

Catch Talia at the Adelphi Theatre – tickets available via their website.
