Broadening the scope of this year’s Tamil Food & Music Festival, Thamarai teamed up with Madurai & London based Sari brand Aparanji Silks for a pop-up to showcase traditional Tamil artisans.

Aparanji Silks took over the Mulberry Room at the picturesque Morden Hall in London for the day, showcasing their selection of handmade items – including hundreds of Kanchipuram & silk sarees, their ornate jewellery collection, and exquisite Thanjavur (Tanjore) paintings.

Collaborating with Vithya Visvendra, the internationally renowned bridal artist, saree drapist based hair & popular content creator, drew in a full house for the live demonstration on how to pleat, pin, and drape a traditional silk saree in her signature style.

This year’s Tamil Food & Music Festival presented by Thamarai, Ruby’s Catering & Morden Hall, attracted over 1400 attendees, which provided Aparanji with a wonderful opportunity to connect with the wider British Tamil community.
