Punya : From London based Doctor to global Tamil singer

From singing in local shows in London to becoming a Super Singer Season 7 finalist mentored by Benny Dayal & Shweta Mohan — Punya has inspired us all with her voice, grace and fearless pursuit of her passion.

Born and raised in the UK, Punya was immersed in music from the age of 3. But like many of us navigating between passion and practicality, she stepped away from the stage to pursue a career in medicine.

After qualifying as a doctor, Punya made the bold decision to follow her heart — leaving her medical career behind to become a full-time artist. And what a journey it’s been.

Now living her dream as a professional singer in Chennai, she returned to London last month to share the stage with Kollywood icons Sathosh Narayanan & Dhee at OVO Wembley — and she’s not stopping there.

We’re proud to welcome homegrown talent Punya Selva to the Tamil Food & Music Festival on Saturday 9th August at the stunning Morden Hall.

Catch her live in London alongside the incredible Voice of Sugar, and backed by the phenomenal DrumShed – a collective of top British Tamil musicians led by Nish Raj.

Expect vibrant Tamil street food from Tamil Nadu, North East Sri Lanka, Malaysia & Singapore, Non-stop music & live performances!

Don’t miss out – this is our sound, our stage, and our celebration.

Tickets are selling fast – presented by Morden Hall, Ruby’s Catering & Thamarai.
