British Tamil women showcase saree collection at Paris Fashion Week 2026

There’s something striking about seeing the saree on a global stage, not just as fashion, but as culture. As identity.

This month, two British Tamil sisters from London, Nanthini and Banu, the founders of Nangai Boutique, did exactly that.

In collaboration with Paris Runway Official, Nangai Boutique by NanB presented a collection of ten pure silk sarees during Paris Fashion Week, held on 7th March at Hotel Le Marois.

At the centre of their work is a clear mission: to support traditional silk weavers and preserve an artistry that has been passed down for over 400 years.

A craft that has long been underrepresented on the global stage.

The runway gave the saree room to breathe. It flowed naturally, revealing the silk’s richness, the depth of colour, the precision of the weave. Every fold carried technique, history, and generations of craft.

Supporting Nanthini and Banu on the day were saree stylists @dsr321sr , @elegancebyb and @glow_with_rella a reminder that behind every moment like this is a wider community, showing up and building together.
