Sid Sriram covers Kendrick Lamar

We’ve been following the work of Chennai-born, US-based singer Sid Sriram for a while now, and it’s exciting to see that his new cover premiered exclusively on The Juice, a regular column on internationally-renowned music news magazine Billboard

The soulful singer who is trained in Carnatic (South Indian classical) music, studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Recently, he recorded with AR Rahman for Mani Ratnam’s film "Kadal", and he spoke to us about his experience. Click here to read his exclusive interview!

In his newest cover, Sid has performed a stripped down version of American hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar’s track "Sing About Me", from his "Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City" album. The singer has put his own spin on the track, with his own lyrics and a little Carnatic riff towards the end. 

The singer is currently preparing for the release of the first half of his two-part project, "West Coast Nightfall". The first part, entitled "Before Dusk", will be dropping on April 17th. Stay tuned for updates!
