South Indian singer Naveen Madhav turns 35 today. The son of M. Raveendran, who was known as the aristocratic music director of Malayalam Cinema due to his unique compositions in Mollywood & Kollywood.
The family’s ties to the entertainment industry continue with his two brothers, Rajan Madhav (film director) and Sajan Madhav (music director).
Naveen has lent his voice to some of Kollywood’s hit songs, including A. R. Rahman’s "Kadhal Sadugudu" with S.P.B. Charan, in Mani Ratnam’s "Alaipyuthey" as well as Vidyasagar’s "Ichu Tha Ichu Tha" with Devan Ekambaram in the film "Run."
However these songs didn’t give him the limelight, not until music director Mani Sharma provided the singer the opportunity to sing solo for the Vijay film "Pokiri." The song was called "Adunguda" and was an instant hit amongst South India’s youth.
Since then Naveen has been associated with a range of hit songs in Tamil and Telugu such as "My Name is Billa" which he sang with KK, "Kathala Kannaley" from the film "Anjathey" and "Machi Open The Bottle" from the film "Mankatha."
His recent Telugu hit is, "Hey Nayak" which he sang with Shreya Ghoshal under S. Thaman’s composition for the film "Nayak". You can listen to the song here: http://youtu.be/-s1T1899c60
