Indie Tamil film “The Jungle” premieres at British Film Institute

The Jungle, a film (best described as the first episode of many) by British Tamil director Sanmugan Satheesan aka Saanmuu Films, premiered on Saturday 9th September at the iconic British Film Institute in London.

Set in London’s underworld, this gritty independent film follows two rival gangs fighting for dominance.

After several years of work, which included many late nights and multiple iterations, Sanmugan with the aid of many aspiring creatives and actors in the community, the support from his family members including his elder brothers who starred in the film, has managed to bring his dream project to fruition with a premiere at the BFI.

The premiere, which included a screening of the short film followed by Qs & As with the cast and crew, was attended by four hundred guests including supporters from across Europe, and fellow independent artists – rapper Mc Sai, dancer and choreographer Jeya Raveendran, singers Sahi Siva and Inno Genga, lyricist and creator Dayan Shan, and many more.
