Dhanush’s Maryan & Ethir Neechal

Tamil Nadu’s Golden Goose, the National award winning actor Dhanush is slowly becoming Chennai’s biggest entertainment export. His maiden production venture “Ethir Neechal” released today in India with some glowing reviews. South Indian entertainment industry tracker Sreedhar Pillai tweeted;

The second has to be the release of the Maryan movie trailer which has got fans sharing and tweeting across the globe, with it briefly trending on twitter this morning. The film has been inspired by true events and is centred around a young fisherman called Maryan played by Dhanush, who leaves his home in search of better opportunities abroad. Music has been produced by AR Rahman, who recently recorded a song with Yuvan Shankar Raja for the film.

Could this be India’s regional entry to the Oscars? We leave that for you to decide.  One last thing to decide is if the producers will either spell it Mariyan, Maryan or Mariyaan!
