Endhiran tops iTunes chart

It’s another record breaker for the highly anticipated Tamil movie blockbuster Endhiran. The Soundtrack after its official launch in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, has hit the top spot on Itune’s music album chart, reaching number 1 in the US and number 2 in the UK. Composed by music director AR Rahman, the soundtrack features various artists from India and introduces Singaporean Tamil singers ‘Lady Kash & Krissy’ to the masses.

Attending the glitzy function in the Malaysian capital were the stars of the movie, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rajinikanth, director S.Shankar and AR Rahman. Audiences also enjoyed a special impromptu dance routine from Simbu, the star of the recently successful movie Vinnaithandi Varuvaya.

A giant in the Tamil movie industry, Rajinikanth is the highest paid actor in India with his last movie Sivaji hitting the UK top ten back in 2007. The action packed Tamil science fiction-flick is said to be the most expensive film made in Indian cinema with a budget of RS.165 crores. If we do the maths, that works out to be around £22 million!

Endhiran hits the big screens in September and is available in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Fingers crossed for another record breaker.
