Asha Sampath: British Tamil female entrepreneur shaping hospitality

From London to Paris: The British Tamil Female Entrepreneur Shaping Hospitality

This International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, we’re celebrating the incredible Tamil women shaping industries, breaking barriers, and inspiring change.

Meet Asha, the London-based director of Asgard Ventures Ltd, a family-owned conglomerate spanning Europe and Southern India.

Raised in Jakarta & Wimbledon, Asha’s journey took her from the luxury fashion industry, working for Harrods, Selfridges and Coach, to leading a growing portfolio of restaurants and hotels across the UK & mainland Europe.

In under a year, she has brought Arya Bhavan, a South Indian vegetarian restaurant with roots in Nagerkovil (a region between Tamil Nadu & Kerala), into the European market. She now oversees Arya Bhavan locations in Leicester Square, Tooting & Wembley, with Barkingside & Knightsbridge coming soon.

Across the Channel, you’ll find Arya Bhavan in Paris—Gare du Nord, the Louvre, and soon opposite Notre Dame Cathedral.

Asha’s vision? To make Arya Bhavan a household name for Dosa & Indian vegetarian cuisine across Europe.
