Brand new short film ‘Article #38’ makes its much-anticipated screen debut on Monday May 10th, as part of the eighth annual Redbridge Book and Media Festival. Premiering at the Cineworld in Ilford, this compact masterpiece will be screened alongside other fresh cinema from East London, as part of the Eastern Edge Film Fund’s acclaimed ‘Big Screen’ showcase.
‘Article #38’ boldly follows an exiled former militant in London, brought face-to-face with his old life when an anonymous woman kidnaps his 14 year old daughter. At the mercy of his own violent past, he begins a desperate search to save his daughter from an unstable persecutor who has vowed to stop at nothing. As time runs dangerously low, it becomes apparent that the ransom that she demands is her stolen childhood.
Scripted and directed by Kuvera and Nelson Sivalingam, ‘Article #38’ is the latest fictional film from Barking MAD Productions – makers of the award-winning short film ‘Still Life’.
