The Art of Saree
A live demonstration of pleating and draping a Silk Saree, presented by Vithya Visvendra
4pm till 5pm on Saturday 9th August
In collaboration with Aparanji Silks
Join Vithya Visvendra – renowned bridal artist and saree drapist – for an intimate live demonstration on how to pleat, pin, and drape a traditional silk saree in her signature style.
With her warmth and experience, Vithya will walk you through every step of the draping process on a live model. She’ll also share insights into how to choose the right type of silk and colours for your skin tone, body shape, and the occasion.
There will be an opportunity to ask questions during the session, and to connect with Vithya directly about your personal saree needs – whether you’re preparing for a wedding, family function, or want to simply reconnect wearing sarees.
This special workshop takes place as part of Aparanji Silks’ Saree Pop-Up Sale (12pm till 6pm), an exclusive one-day event at the Tamil Food & Music Festival.
