South India’s JFW (Just For Women) magazine will be holding their Women Achievers Awards on March 1st in Chennai, India. This will be the fifth year of this prestigious awards ceremony, which honours women who have made a difference within their respective fields.
Actress Hansika Motwani is one woman who will be honoured at the event, for her success in the South Indian film industries. The 21-year-old actress has been acting since a young age, making an appearance on Hindi television shows at the age of 12. She made her film debut in the Telugu scene and has since been in a number of Telugu and Tamil films, including "Engeyum Kaadhal" and "Velayudham". She is currently working on a number of projects including "Singam 2" opposite Suriya and she is in the upcoming film "Settai".
Other women who will be honoured at the awards include veteran actress Saroja Devi, dancer Alarmel Valli and scientist Tessy Thomas amongst others.
Actress Trisha Krishnan will be receiving an award for excellence in cinema. Trisha has been in the film industry for just over a decade, making her debut back in 2002. She has worked with top stars including Kamal Haasan, Vijay and Vikram, and has a number of projects in the pipeline.
