Disney goes South
The Walt Disney company, who made the Bollywood flop, Roadside Romeo (a cartoon story of 2 dogs voiced by real life couple, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor) are back, only this time, they are widening their horizons and going South.
The yet to be titled fantasy story, about a little girl who saves her land, another real life couple play the main roles, gorgeous Shruti Haasan (Luck) and Siddharth (Boys) come together, with child actress Harshita. It will be made in Telugu and Tamil, as a bi-lingual.
Award winning director, Prakash Rao Kovelamudi will be directing this epic venture. We will have to wait till January 2011 to see this children’s flick. In the meantime, you can make-do with Zokkomon, a Hindi film from Disney, which stars Darsheel Safary of Aamri Khan’s Taare Zameen Par – it features music by Shankar Ehsaan Loy and is out in May 2010.
Arya is voiced by Vikram?
Although he is Malayalee, green eyed actor Arya, can speak Tamil very well so no, he is not getting his voice dubbed, however one of the songs from the film will be sung by Chiyaan Vikram. The actor has already sung a few songs in the past, in Gemini and his recent Kanthaswamy. Now we will get to hear him crooning in Madharasapattinam (with British model, Amy Jackson).
But this is no ordinary song! Oh no, this is very different. The song composed by GV Prakash has Vikram singing in five different voices. For example a teacher, an old man, a youngster, a dhobi and a vendor,
It seems the song goes “Meghame Oh Meghame” and Director Vijay (Kireedom) feels this song will rock the charts.
We’re definitely looking forward to it at Thamarai!
Where is Endhiran?
More news comes to us about our Super Star’s upcoming film Endhiran.
The last schedule of shoot has begun and once that has ended then all we have to wait is for the audio release. The Sivaji hype is all coming back as music is being completed by the Music Wizard AR Rahman. There is still one song under composition and once the mastering is all complete, we may look forward to an audio launch.
Not only that, but the director is awaiting the final song, so it can go into shooting with Super Star Rajinkanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Oscar Winning Resul Pookutty is taking care of the sound design and a fair amount of final editing is to be completed.
Sounds like a lot to do…is the film going to be out next year? Well the director (Shankar), says it should be out in a couple of months! Let’s wait and see.
Madhavan picks his 3 idiots
Madhavan was asked to play the same role from his Hindi flick “3 Idiots” in the Tamil remake. But the actor had kindly refused the offer. Why? Well he said that he gave his heart and soul into the Hindi character and that trying to repeat it again in Tamil would not be so interesting.
So the actor gave his three choices of who would be suitable to do the roles. Those three actors are Vikram, Ajith and Vijay. He felt the actors were suitable towards the characters they could play and it would sure give the film that star value.
Wow! Imagine that, all three in one movie. Many years ago, Ajith and Vijay shared the screen together in Rajavin Parvaiyile (1995) and Ajith and Vikram paired together, in Ullasam (1997). Vijay and Vikram are also said to share a very good friendship.
It would be a good idea for Director Vishnuvardhan to sort the cast out right away, especially with clashing dates of top stars… But still, which three actors do you feel would suit the roles, bearing in mind the story is set during college years?
