Thala Ajith Kumar’s 50th film
Ajith is back in action after a gap and having an excellent outcome with “Aasal.”
What’s next? Well Ajith is all geared up to start his 50th film. A lot of talks were going around with many directors, as to who would wear the director’s cap. Finally, the choice has been made! It is none other than the Gautham Vasudev Menon.
Gautham will bring a ‘thriller’ back to our screens and it will be another cop story. Gautham had directed Kaakha Kaakha and Vettaiyaadu Velaiyaadu which were both cop movies and both turned out to be super hits. It is said that Ajith will be playing a detective in his forthcoming movie titled “Thuppariyum Anand” (Detective Anand). But an official announcement will be out soon. In the meantime, who is scoring the music? Harris Jayaraj or AR Rahman? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
What is “Ko” about?
The entire unit have been under tight secrecy not to give out any information about the film. All we know is that K.V.Anand (Ayan) is the director and that the film will have Jeeva (Dishyum), Karthika (new face and 80s Actress Radha’s daughter), Ajmal (Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru) and Piya (Aegan, Goa).
Obviously Jeeva knows the reasons as to why things should be kept quiet, but as for Karthika, this is her début film. Can the actress be tight lipped? Well to be sure, the director has had words with her mother to keep things on the down-low and not leak any news out to the media or even her friends until the time is right.
GV Prakash follows in his uncle’s Bollywood footsteps
Music Wizard AR Rahman has composed music in all the main Indian languages and even in Hollywood (winning top awards in the process) and it seems this talent runs in the veins of his family. Next to follow his illustrious footsteps, is his nephew, GV Prakash. The young composer who had a recent release with Aayarathil Oruvan and Irrumbu Kottai Murattu Singam has now ventured into Bollywood.
Director Shirish Kunder who has edited films such as “Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om” will be directing a film, with John Abraham in the lead and GV Prakash as the music director.
Word has it that Vikram Bhatt (Ankahee) has also shown keen interest to work with the young composer. Looks like someone is going to be really really busy.
Abhishek Bachchan gives a helping hand to Vikram
When working in a film, you are always bound to get close with the co-stars as well as the unit. You become good friends and sometimes feel like you’re part of one big family.
Well an incident occurred on the sets of Mani Ratnam’s “Raavan”, which involved Junior Bachchan being there for Tamil star Vikram (Kandasamy).
Vikram had to climb down a 2000 foot high cliff. But the actor had not revealed his vertigo problem and had continued to take the shot. However Abhishek noticed Vikram’s anxiety by being involved for the shot as a guide for Vikram. At all times, Abhishek made sure he was outside the frame of the shot until Vikram had completed his scene with ease.
Now that’s a true friend indeed.
