Bosco Records launches to champion British South Asian talent

A new era for British Tamil music has begun with the launch of Bosco Records, headed by London based music producer Charles Bosco. He has received investment from established industry leaders to back the venture.

“Our mission is to provide a platform for South Asian talent in the UK music industry,” says Bosco Records founder and CEO, Charles Bosco. “We are committed to signing and representing a diverse range of artists and producing high-quality music that appeals to a global audience.”

The first single to officially release through the label is “King of the Jungle” by popular British Tamil artists Arjun and Charles Bosco. For over a decade, the two have worked together on numerous Tamil independent and Kollywood songs.

“I am thrilled to release this track through Bosco Records, as it showcases my musical style and pays homage to my roots. This new track is sure to be a crowd-pleaser, and I am excited for my old and new fans to experience it and embrace the rich diversity of South Asian music,” says Arjun.

Charles started producing at the age of 18, playing numerous instruments since a young age. Raised in the United Kingdom, with roots in Sri Lanka, his discography starts with him producing for African artists such as Tillaman, Stylo G, and breaking into Kollywood where he worked with music director Vijay Antony, in ‘Chillax’ for Velayudham. He has gone on to work with acclaimed composers like A. R Rahman and Anirudh Ravichander.

Recently he has been thrust into the limelight with his viral refix videos which have collectively reached over 50 Million views on Instagram, with the sounds used over 500,000 times by content creators globally.

King of the Jungle features a licensed sample of “Kannodu Kanbathathellam” by Nithyasree Mahadevan and A.R.Rahman. Bringing the song to life visually is London based director Thuva Rajani, an up and coming name in music video production.

Chennai based dancer and choreographer Kavya G from Black Swan Dance has created a fusion bharatanatyam routine, which features London based dancers Bluinse Thomas and Hashna Sivasothilingam.
