Bolton & Rahman

Its official, popular American singer Michael Bolton and Tamil composer AR Rahman will be collaborating on a project. Michael Bolton announced on twitter a few hours ago, ”Working on Sajna with the incredible A.R. Rahman. It’s a beautiful Hindi love song. Can’t wait for you to hear it!”

The song will be featured on Michael Bolton’s new album titled Gems, which will feature an array of international artists. AR Rahman the multi award winning Maestro of Madras (from Chennai, Tamil Nadu) is sought after in the West especially after winning two Oscars, two grammys, a BAFTA & Golden Globe.

It was originally thought that AR Rahman will be singing the chorus, but recent reports say that due to Rahman’s prior commitments Bolton will be recording the track himself including a few lines in Hindi. Sajna is from the soundtrack to the 2009 American film ”Couples Retreat” by Peter Billingsley. Originally sung P.J Morton and lyrics penned by Blaaze, let’s hope Michael Bolton’s version surpasses the original version.
