Check out "Nee Nenaindal" – a Carnatic fusion piece with amazing vocals by sisters Vidya and Vandana Iyer from Washington DC. While their voices are certainly beautiful, it’s the clarinet by Shankar Tucker that is the highlight of this piece. On his YouTube channel (TheSruthibox), Shankar – who learns from Indian flute maestro Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia – shows his other experiments with Indian classical fusion music. What do you think?
Shankar Tucker‘s original music blends the sounds of Classical Indian music, Jazz, and Popular music to create a seamless synthesis of cultures and traditions. Another of his videos we enjoyed is titled "Moments & Centers" which features Shankar playing an array of western and eastern instruments.
