Track of the Week #15

This week’s Track of the Week is from the Malayalam romantic comedy film "My Boss" directed by Jeethu Joseph, starring Dileep and singer-turned-actress Mamta Mohandas.

The film is an adaptation of the 2009 Hollywood film "The Proposal" starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. Set in Mumbai, Dileep stars as a young software engineer, with Mamta acting as his boss.

The song I have chosen has been composed by Sejo John, a Malayalam music director with only four films under his belt. Despite that, he is already making waves. The song "Suryane Kaithodan" is a melodious number sung by Karthik. The track kicks off with an acoustic guitar over urban beats, and is very simple in terms of composition, but still appealing to listen to. Karthik has done a great job with his vocals on the track which float beautifully over the melodious arrangement.

I feel that this refreshing song is a sure sign that Sejo John will definitely be making a name for himself in Mollywood!
