Sean Roldan & Friends

Sean Roldan – also known as R. Raghavendran – is a classically-trained Carnatic musician, with a passion for blues and country music. His sound effortlessly blends these two musical genres, with elements of acoustic funk and traditional Indian folk music.

He cites artists such as Waylon Jennings and Bob Dylan as his influences, and there also seems to be a hint of Ilayaraja-esque touches to his some of his music; take for example the video below for "Mayakura Poo Vasam".

His band – Sean Roldan & Friends – is made up of slide guitarist Pradeep Vijay, bassist Naveen, and Allwyn on percussion. 

Sean composes his songs himself, and he sings in both Tamil and English. Their refreshing and unique style is one that is sure to draw in many a music-lover.
