Every budding designer’s dream would be to work for one of the biggest fashion houses in the world. One step further would be the opportunity to work alongside the head of design or even the founder! The dream has come true for Malaysian Hariharan Arasu, a young Tamil designer from Kuala Lumpur who is the winner of Kronenbourg 1664’s L’Aperitif Fashion Competition.
Hariharan Arasu will be the next apprentice to the world famous, Malaysian-born designer, Professor Dato’ Dr Jimmy Choo. He will be flown to London in February where he will undergo an intensive mentorship with the fashion guru for five days.
Held on the 20th of November 2012 at Luna Bar in Kuala Lumpur, Hariharan beat off competition from five other designers from fashion institutes in Malaysia. The designers were invited to showcase three of their design at the stunning location, which featured in the backdr0p the iconic Petronas towers. The event provides a platform for Malaysia’s budding talent and this year was judged by Andrea Fonseka, Soren Ravn, Amber Chia & Jason Lim.
