Grand Opening of Saravanaa Bhavan Kenton, London

Saravanaa Bhavan, a popular Indian vegetarian restaurant from Southern India (Tamil Nadu), have opened their 101st international branch in Kenton, North West London.

The brand new 160-seater restaurant on Kenton road, with over half a million pound investment, features a state of the art kitchen, spacious and plush interior, with cocktail and fresh juice bar. It brings a much needed new lease of life to  Kenton Park Parade.

Open for dine in, takeaway and delivery from 11am till 10.30pm, seven days a week, the Kenton branch is a short 4 minute drive from either Kenton or Kingsbury underground stations.

The branch was inaugurated by the charismatic and pioneering brand owner & franchisor, Mr P.R. Shivakumaar (Chairman & MD). He was also personally overseeing first day operations, to ensure that customer expectations were met and the brand’s international standards upheld.

The entrepreneurial British Tamil couple, Mr Vicky & Mrs Reka, Saravanaa Bhavan’s Franchise Partners in the UK for over 20 years, were overseeing the year long construction of the new Kenton site along with their team. The grand opening of the Kenton branch, their 5th Saravanaa Bhavan restaurant in London, took place last Sunday 29th September. Their existing branches include Rayners Lane (Harrow), Southall, Ilford and East Ham.

They are currently serving 150,000 customers per month, but the couple’s vision is to reach 300,000 customers per month in the coming years, through an expansion plan of opening another 5 branches across the UK.

The couple have a vast portfolio of successful ventures spanning 25 years, including Party Paradise Decor, and the Platinum Lounge, a banqueting venue in East London. Other projects include movie production, events & entertainment, sports & media, boutique hotels, and many more in the pipeline.

Also present at the grand opening were community leaders, members of London’s business networks, friends, family and local supporters – including councillors Chetna Halai, Suresh Krishna and Sasikala Suresh.

Guests enjoyed freshly prepared dishes, speeches, and incredible performances  including Bharanatyam by team Annam (coordinated and choreographed by @chiinthusarvan), tabla by @himmetpercussion, and Kenton based singer Sonna Relle (@sonnarelle).

Sonna Relle, is known for touring with award winning American RnB singer Neyo, performing at Wembley Stadium for India’s Prime minister Narendra Modi, and the voice behind “Strong”, the theme song for Disney’s Cinderella.

Following the ribbon cutting ceremony, the restaurant opened to the public for dine in, and was filled within minutes.
