South Indian & Sri Lankan art at London based contemporary art exhibition

London based art collector Jana Manuelpillai has had a varied and colourful career in the arts and several world-renowned institutions. Born in Wembley and hailing from Sri Lanka, Jana is an art historian by trade with a BA in art history and English literature and a MA in the study of museums and galleries. He has specialist knowledge in a wide spectrum of subjects including psychoanalytical approaches to art, European baroque painting, museum education and object interpretation.

His entrepreneurial spirit has led him in many different directions, often initiating or leading museum departments. This culminated in the opening of his own contemporary art gallery & collection, The Noble Sage, in 2006.

The Noble Sage‘s latest exhibition is in association with the Camden Image Gallery, featuring twenty-eight pieces both on paper and canvas that demonstrate talented artists from India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan; as well as a South Asian artist born here in the UK. artist born here in the UK.

The South Asian Contemporary Art exhibition is a stunning assemblage of exciting new works from the South Asian region, particularly South India & Sri Lanka. This exhibition will bring a splash of colour and light to the gallery during this Winter season. Visitors can expect varied artistic expression and diverse themes in this unique and inspiring show.

The featured artists will include: the Late Tasaduq Sohail, R.B. Bhaskaran, Achuthan Kudallur, G. Raman, the Late C. Dakshinamoorthy, Jagath Weerasingh, Manoj Vyloor, Asma Menon, P. Jayakani, G. Gurunathan, Ganesh Selvaraj, V. Anamika, N. Prasannakumar, V. Narayanan and Priya Barot.

The themes within the show cover wide subject areas from Hindu divinity to the abstract landscape – so, there will be something to catch everyone’s eye. The exhibition runs till Saturday 3rd February. Original works are for sale, ranging from £450-1000
