Tamil Films At The South Asian Film Festival

The first South Asian Film Festival (SAFF) will be taking place in Paris between January 16th and 20th, 2013. The festival will screen movies from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal – something the organisers feel is important, in order to show that South Asian cinema extends far beyond the world of Bollywood.

"Vazhakku En 18/9", a crime thriller that released in May 2012, is one of the films that has been selected to be screened at the festival. The critically-acclaimed film stars newcomers Mithun, Sri, Urmila and Manisha, and has been directed by Balaji Sakthivel, the man behind films such as "Samurai" and "Kaadhal".

Thriller film "Pizza" is also one of the Tamil films that will be screened at SAFF. The film – which was made on a relatively small budget – released in October 2012. It received positive reviews, and Superstar Rajinikanth even called the director himself, saying that he enjoyed the film!

AR Murugadoss’ film "7Am Arivu" will be screened under a special section of the festival, along with Hindi hit "Delhi Belly".
