NDTV’s Entertainer of the decade

It was a good day for the South at NDTV’S Indian of the Year awards. The show was held on the 15th February 2011 at Delhi’s Taj Palace. Receiving the award from Dr.Farook Abdullah, Kollywood Tamil actress ”Trisha” walked away with ”Southern Star of the Year”. Bollywood Tamil actress ”Vidya” Balan received ”Actor of the year (Female)” and receiving the award for ”Entertainer of the decade” from Indian Home Minister P Chidambaram, was Tamil movie star ”Rajnikanth”. Union Home Minister P Chidambaram mentioned how he would like to see Rajinikanth join politics, a wish he first expressed in 1996. On the night Rajani humbly steered away from any talk about joining politics and thanked God and the people around him for all his achievements. Below is a clip from the event.

 

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif received ‘Entertainer of the Year – Popular Star”. She along with Trisha & Vidya Balan were invited to share the stage with Rajnikanth. When asked to say a few words about Rajni, Katrina mentioned that her mother who lived in Chennai was disappointed to have missed the superstar as they shared the same flight up to Delhi, and how Rajni Sir is beyond an icon and an actor.
