Award-winning musician A. R. Rahman recently watched upcoming film "Life of Pi" at Fox Studios, and was full of praise for the film.
"Just watched Life of Pi at Fox Studios…it’s a masterpiece!! So much Tamil in it !! Don’t miss it ….;-)," he Tweeted.
The film is an adaptation of Yann Martel’s novel of the same title, and has been directed by Ang Lee, who brought us Hollywood blockbusters such as ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’ and ‘Brokeback Mountain’. The story centres around Piscine Molitor Patel a.k.a. Pi, a boy from Pondicherry in South India, who a disaster at sea. Pi, along with a Bengal tiger who also survives, goes on a journey of self-discovery and adventure. The film stars newcomer Suraj Sharma, along with Irrfan Khan and actress Tabu who has starred in a number of both North and South Indian films.
The Tamil link continues into the film’s soundtrack, with the song "Pi’s Lullaby" which has beautiful Tamil lyrics sung by distinguished Carnatic singer Bombay Jayashri:
Life of Pi is due out later this year, and we can’t wait to check it out…the trailer looks brilliant!
