Transport yourself into the world of Hindustani and Carnatic traditions with this double-bill, as some of Indian classical music’s most thrilling performers present an evening of sublime ragas.

Hindustani
Discover two of today’s most respected emerging soloists on the sarod, the stringed, lute-like instrument that is so prominent in traditional Indian music. Weaving through a selection of evening ragas for their first UK appearance are the sons of renowned master of the instrument, Pandit Shekhar Borkar, accompanied by the brilliant master of tabla, Parimal Chakraborty.

Carnatic
In the second half, one of India’s most distinctive and celebrated singers, Sudha Ragunathan presents the authentic Carnatic form. Her gloriously expressive voice has won her both the Kalaimamani award by the Government of Tamil Nadu and Padma Bhushan by the Government of India, two of India’s highest awards. Performing with a full Carnatic ensemble from Chennai and London, she further explores the raga tradition after her sell-out concert in 2014.
