First Half – Carnatic
Aruna Sairam returns after her sell-out concert at the 2009 Darbar festival. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear her captivating and powerful voice alongside her first duet with Jayanthi Kumaresh, India’s finest Saraswati veena maestro.

Kumar and Karthick bring flare and hypnotic rhythmic grooves in superb accompaniment on mridangam and ghatam respectively.

Second Half – Hindustani
In the concert’s second half, brothers Pandit Rajan and Pandit Sajan make their Darbar debut. The two khayal vocalists are leading exponents of the Benares gharana (school of music).

This evening they weave a rich tapestry of sumptuous ragas, from the touchingly simple to the imposing and awe-inspiring. One of India’s greatest tabla masters, Pandit Kumar Bose, provides a magical and thrilling accompaniment.
