Yesterday, talented dancer-turned-actor-turned-director Prabhu Deva celebrated his 40th birthday! The two-time National Best Choregrapher Award-winner began his film dancing career in 1988 in the film "Agni Natchathiram", and has since been involved in numerous Tamil, Hindi and Telugu films.
Although he had made guest appearances in songs, he made his proper film debut in 1994 Tamil film "Indhu" opposite actress Roja. He then went on to act in films such as "Kadhalan" and "Minsara Kanavu". His directorial debut was in 2005 for award-winning Telugu film "Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana" starring Trisha and Siddharth. His first time as a director in Bollywood was for the film "Wanted", which he made first in Tamil as "Pokkiri" in 2009.
For this week’s Throwback Thursday, we have chosen a track that is probably one of the most-loved Prabhu Deva numbers. Taken from director Shankar’s 1994 Tamil film "Kadhalan", with music by AR Rahman and vocals by Mano and Swarnalatha, this is one track that doesn’t really need an introduction!
Sending our belated birthday wishes to the talented Prabhu Deva!
