The South Asian Autism Awareness Centre (SAAAC) is a non-profit organisation established in 2008 and based in Ontario. The team is made up of a number of members from various disciplines including physicians, behavioural, speech and occupational therapists, and social workers. They work with South Asian families with children affected by Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), providing a culturally-sensitive approach to supporting these families.
Founded by Geetha Moorthy, the SAAAC held its first gala in 2010 and has since grown and developed with the support of volunteers, community and business leaders and healthcare professionals who donate their time to the cause.
On March 9th, SAAAC held its "Radiant Night", an event designed to bring together a community to create change and celebrate hope for families impacted by ASD.
