We are delighted to announce that we have a winner for "The Tash 2012," a competition to find the best looking moustache from the Movember campaign. Movember is an annual, global, month-long event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of prostate cancer.
To promote Movember amongst the Tamil community, The Tash competition was launched in 2011 by thamarai.com and after the success in the first year we decided to make it an annual charity project.
Contenders are invited to submit a photo of them on the last day of MOVEMBER. This year we had 4 contenders. Their family and friends are invited to vote along with the other thamarai readers via the facebook page and by email. The person with the most likes / votes takes the title and a £100 donation from thamarai.com towards their Movember fundraising.
Hundreds have voted and this year our winner is Arunn Gnanapragasam from London who sports an impressive display of finely trimmed facial adornment inspired by the South Indian Chola dynasty! We spoke to a very jubilant Arunn about his victory and what this title means to him.
Credit goes to my parents, especially my dad for teaching me to shave from the tender age of 6. thank you to my tash-fans for all the votes and finally to god for blessing me with bountiful facial hair! proudest moment of my life…
We like to thank our three runners up Gobi Raj, Ram Nat & Veebishna Devendran from London for taking part. For more information on Movember please visit http://movember.com.
