Controversial novelist Sir Salman Rushdie’s award-winning book "Midnight’s Children" has been made into a film, which premiered on Sunday night at the 56th BFI London Film Festival. The beautiful Shriya Saran – who has made a name for herself as a leading actress across South Indian film industries – stars in the film. The 30-year-old looked stunning in a green sari with a pink and gold border, and her hair in a classy updo. She was joined by her co-star, British-born actor Satya Bhabha.
"Midnight’s Children" has been directed by Indian-born Canadian Deepa Mehta, whose previous work includes the "Elements Trilogy" of which "Water" became Canada’s first ever non-French film to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Film.
The BFI London Film Festival runs until October 21st. Check out some images from the premiere above! Below is the trailer for the film, which is out later this year.
