Malaysia’s reggae icon Sasi the Don is back with a fresh new song for the Tamil Music scene. We are pleased to announce the release of the highly anticipated track "Devathai" (Angel) featuring the very first Malaysian Idol winner Jaclyn Victor. Known popularly for singing in English & Malay, Jaclyn enters new territory with Devathai, her first official Tamil record.
Produced alongside the Navigator aka Navin Kumar, Sasi the don reaches out to his Tamil fans with a beautifully penned song by Masta K. Let’s hope Devathai surpasses "Anbe", the 2001 hit which brought him Malaysia wide fame. The Thamarai team had the privilege of being invited to the recording session in Malaysia for Devathai, witnessing these four extremely talented individuals put together this exceptional piece of music. We recently reported Sasi’s studio session in London with the legendry Maxi Priest, working on a track called Island Queen. He was also in Chennai working with Kollywood singer Harish Raghavendra on a song called Kadhal Saghiye. All three songs will be featured on his 2011 album titled "Don’t Panic. It’s just music" to be released by Vigin Music India & Universal Music in Malaysia. We wish the international ambassador of reggae music the very best for the album, which should be releasing in the next few months. We can’t wait!
