Five Tamil powerlifters in the UK fitness scene are going to be lifting 1,000,000 KG in 24 hours to help raise money for Tamil communities in the north & east of Sri Lanka.

Leading the initiative is Anujan Srikantha, a professional powerlifter who was born in Italy, raised in London, lived in Sri Lanka, and represents England & Great Britain in international competitions.
Joining Anujan, are fellow lifters Ajith S, Niron K, Julio Nallamapanan De Cabo and Jey S (Diamond).
“Specific areas we are looking to tackle with the money raised; helping St Johns Boys home which cares for vulnerable boys in Batticaloa. We want to improve their facilities and are looking to build a small gym inside the home for the children to work out. We also are looking to tackle short term relief after cyclone Ditwah as there are many Tamil communities still affected by this and finally creating sustainable development opportunities through sports such as badminton.”
Proceeds will be distributed via the Aram initiative, a branch of London based charity Tamil Aid (Registered charity number 1108660). To donate, please visit their Justgiving page
