The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) this year takes place between the 20th and 30th of November. The festival – which takes place in Goa – first began in 1952, and has established itself as a brilliant opportunity for both established and upcoming filmmakers from all over the world to watch, appreciate and learn about film and film-making.
Several awards will be presented, including "Best Film", Best Actor/Actress and the Lifetime Achievement Award, to name a few. Apart from this, several other events take place during the course of the ten day festival, including Indian and Foreign Retrospectives, short film screenings and technical workshops.
Another event is the Indian Panorama, where a selection of Indian films will be screened. One of the film’s that will be screened at the IFFI 2012 is "Vaagai Sooda Vaa". This film won the National Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil in 2012, and stars Vimal and Bhagyaraj.
