The film adaptation of Yann Martel’s 2001 novel "Life of Pi" is gearing up for release later this year. The story follows Piscine Molitor Patel (a.k.a. Pi) who grows up in Pondicherry, South India, where his dad owns a zoo. The film stars newcomer Suraj Sharma as Pi, and actress Tabu – who has starred in films across the Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Marathi film industries – stars as Pi’s mother. The film has been directed by the award-winning Ang Lee, who brought us blockbusters such as "Brokeback Mountain" and "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon".

The video below gives a taste of each of the tracks in the film’s soundtrack, composed Mychael Danna who has done the scores for films such as "(500) Days of Summer" and "Little Miss Sunshine". Whilst all the tracks are great, we especially like the opening track "Pi’s Lullaby", which features some beautiful Tamil lyrics – we’re looking forward to hearing the whole thing! Have a listen:
