Paradesi – Audio Launch and Trailer

"Paradesi" is an upcoming film directed by award-winning director Bala (Sethu, Naan Kadavul), and stars Adharvaa, Dhansika and Vedhika. The film’s music has been scored by GV Prakash Kumar, and the soundtrack was unveiled on November 25th. 

The film is set in the 1930s, and tells the story of indentured labourers living in very poor conditions. Wrapped up in a mere 90 days, the film was shot in a number of locations across the Sivagangai district as well as in parts of Kerala and Theni. 

Already, the soundtrack has received high praise; lyricist Madhan Karky Tweeted saying "Senegaade and Senneerdhaana are my picks in Paradesi. Soulful music, lyrics and singing."

One of the songs has been sung by Pragathi, who was a finalist in this year’s Airtel Super Singer Junior 3 competition. The young star, who was brought up in California, lends her voice to the track "Or Mirugam", and her vocals sound like that of a seasoned singer – not of a 15-year-old girl! 

The trailer for "Paradesi" was unveiled a few days ago, and that too has been well-received, with esteemed playback singer Krish taking to Twitter to say " What a great making of paradesi trailer looks stunning [sic]. Bala sir at his best.. Congrats to the entire team.. Great job by @gvprakash"
