Kollywood on hunger strike for Sri Lankan Tamils

Many leading Kollywood stars have been on hunger strike today, to show their solidarity and to demand an international investigation into the alleged war crimes that took place in Sri Lanka.

Held at the South Indian Film Artist’s Association in Chennai, esteemed Kollywood personalities including Sarathkumar, Ajith and Surya were present. Others including Simbu, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Dhanush, Karthi and Vikram also joined the protest. 

Actor Prakash Raj spoke to the media earlier, and said "It is not just a Tamil issue, it is not just an Indian issue, it is an international issue. Equal status has to be given to Tamils in Sri Lanka."
