AR Rahman to direct a film?!

Award-winning music director, A.R. Rahman, may be venturing in film direction, if the latest buzz is to be believed. Apparently the world-renowned musician has been penning a script himself, and may soon be behind the camera to turn his script into something for the big screen.

The Mozart of Madras’ friend, Oscar-winning sound engineer Resul Pookutty is also in talks about his own directorial debut, and he has said that stepping into film direction will be a natural progression for Rahman.

The most recent releases by AR Rahman was the soundtrack for Mani Ratnam’s film "Kadal", and then he released a teaser to (what we are assuming is) an independent album made with his siblings, entitled "Rasaayana Rojakkal". There have been no updates since the release of that teaser last month, but this could be because the musician has been busy with his film projects, which include Shankar’s upcoming Tamil film "I" starring Chiyaan Vikram and Amy Jackson, and Dhanush’s Bollywood debut "Raanjhnaa".

Stay tuned for updates!
