‘Tis the season of remakes…or so it would seem. We recently reported that Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s yet-to-be released "Thuppakki" is going to be remade in Hindi, and hit Bollywood film "Barfi!" is to be remade in Tamil. Well, here’s another South-North crossover to add to that list: rumour has it that Vijay’s hit 2004 film "Ghilli" is going to be remade in Hindi! Ghilli itself is a remake of Telugu film "Okkadu".
The latest is that leading Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor – who is married to actress Sridevi – is looking to cast his son Arjun Kapoor in the lead role for the remake. Arjun made his debut in "Ishaqzaade" opposite Parineeti Chopra, cousin of Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra. While the leading lady for the film is yet to be confirmed, it looks like the film will begin shooting in June 2013.
We wonder which film will be next to be given the South-to-North or North-to-South makeover! Any ideas?
