Returning to London after his sold-out 2023 Wembley Arena concert, Sid Sriram performed at the iconic 02 Arena in London on Sunday evening.
Mesmerising audiences at the packed house, the Chennai born, American Tamil singer performed continuously for three hours, opening with a Carnatic rendition of a prayer to Lord Ganesh, then flowing effortlessly between languages and genres.
Supported by his band, the set list included his popular South Indian film hits (predominantly Tamil, with some Telugu favourites), songs from his independent album Sidharth (released via Def Jam records) and renditions of much-loved nostalgic Kollywood anthems.
Opening for Sid was British Tamil singer Pritt, who was joined on stage by an ensemble of London based Tamil musicians including Ramanan, Dilush Selva, Veena and Mithushan.
The 02 Arena has seen the likes of music composers AR Rahman and Anirudh, who have performed with the support of their preferred singers. Sid is the first Tamil singer to headline his own solo show at the 02 Arena.
The concert was presented by Grace Entertainments, who were media partnered by BBC Asian Network & IBC Tamil. Supported by digital partners AJs, and marketing partners Thamarai.
