Director Seenu Ramasamy’s upcoming film "Neer Paravai" is one that – in his own words – registers the pain of Lankan Tamils, and raises awareness of the troubles of fishermen.
The story centres around a boy from Southern Sri Lanka who is found, and then brought up by a fisherman from Tamil Nadu. Award-winning actress Nandita Das plays a crucial role in the film, which stars Vishnu (‘Bale Pandiya‘, ‘Kullanari Koottam’) and Sunaina (‘Thiruthani’, ‘Kadhalil Vizhunden’) in the lead roles.
Shot primarily in the South Indian coastal town of Kanyakumari, "Neer Paravai" is expected to be released later this month under Udayanidhi Stalin’s "Red Giant Movies" banner. NR Raghunathan (Thenmerku Paruvakaatru) scored the music and esteemed lyricist Vairamuthu penend the lyrics for the soundtrack which was released in October.
