Meet the Judges

The biggest, most anticipated inter-university competition in the UK; Face Off 2012 is back this Saturday at the Indigo2 in London. The responsibility of choosing the best music & dance act is left in the capable hands of the judges. Joining the veteran judges this year will be guest judge Arjun, who will also be performing on the night.

ARJUN is a London based singer, songwriter and producer. Arjun was chosen as one of MTV’s Top 20 Unsigned Acts for 2012 – The MTV ‘Brand New for 2012’ contest has previously featured artists such as Jessie J and Tinie Tempah. His rework of the Tamil song ‘Why This Kolaveri Di’ racked up over 3 million YouTube views in one month, and has now reached 5 million views. He is a multi instrumentalist, capable of playing the guitar, piano, bass, drums and flute, on top of singing and beatboxing. This variety truly shows in his work and he has produced music for artists of all genres, including the internationally acclaimed Hindi album by Shivali, ‘The Bhajan Project’ (released by Sony India). The album went on to reach #10 in the iTunes World Music Chart, and was nominated for ‘Best Fusion Album‘ and ‘Best Debut‘ at the ‘Global Indian Music Awards 2011’.

Charles Bosco is a composer, producer, arranger, mixing engineer and vocal arranger. He has produced sound tracks for the lucrative South Indian movie industry, to independent music albums for Bollywood, Malaysian & UK artistes. The launch of his own Bosco Studios has given Charles the platform from which to offer a uniquely creative ear to those seeking fine-tuning or fresh ideas.

Ashanti OMkar is a media persona – a Print/Broadcast journalist | compère | consultant | curator. Born in South Asia and raised in West Africa and Europe, she spent her teens in the UK and graduated from The University of London. She works as a contributing editor for BBC Publishing, with UK’s biggest circulation film magazine, Cineworld Unlimited, and across many other mediums, including BBC London 94.9FM, as Bollywood expert and Anokhi and Galatta glossy magazines, as London correspondent.

Honey Kalaria is a Dancer, Choreographer and Performing Arts consultant. She is known as the ‘UK’sBollywood Ambassador’.

Brendan “Syxx” Isaac is a dancer and teacher and is versed in Street Dance, Ballet, Tap and Modern. He is a dance captain in the renowned dance troupe ‘Boy Blue Entertainment’, which performs in corporate, community or commercial events.
