Most of you are well aware of the fact that the Mozart of Madras, A. R. Rahman, has been nominated for 2 Oscars for this year. One is for Best Soundtrack for Danny Boyle’s "127 Hours", and the other is for Best Song for "If I Rise" from the same. The song was originally by Dido, but unfortunately she is unable to make it to the Awards ceremony on February 27th in Los Angeles.
Instead, Florence Welch – who fronts the group Florence and the Machine – will take to stage with ARR to perform the track at the ceremony. Also performing on the night will be actress Gwyneth Paltrow, as well as Randy Newman and Mandy Moore. Check out the original version of "If I Rise" below:
