The Ghajini hype is back!
Director AR Murugadoss (Dheena, Ramana, Ghajini) has completed the script for his next film with the hunky Surya (who is also in Ram Gopal Verma’s Rakta Charitra) and the gorgeous Shruti Haasan, daughter of Universal Hero Dr Kamal Haasan. Both the director and Surya have given some thrilling action films in the past so there is no doubt we will be expecting something similar. With Shruti’s action scenes in the Bollywood film Luck making waves, no doubt, she will be doing something special too.
The first schedule of shooting will take place in China, where they will picturise two songs. One song will be a duet with the two leads, whilst the other song will encompass Shruthi and 50 background dancers. Once this is complete, the director will commence shooting with the rest of the cast.
Muscle-man Arjun is also said to be shooting a song for his forthcoming film “Vallakottai” in China, this too at an expensive budget.
I wonder if we will see a déjà vu with locations in both songs.

Vikram and Bala are back!
Director Bala has given us some extraordinary films in the past such as “Nandha” (Surya), “Pithamagan” (Vikram and Surya) and the recent “Naan Kadavul” (Arya). All these films have brought a huge change to the actors acting skills as they all required a lot of hard work towards their characters in their films.
Whilst Bala is halfway shooting for “Avan Ivan” starring Vishal and Arya, the director has decided on his next script with an actor in mind. That actor is none other than Chiyaan Vikram, who is currently hot property, with his Mani Ratnam release Raavana. The duo had given hits in the past with “Sethu” and “Pithamagan” and it looks like they are going to give another hit soon.
Since the director is busy shooting “Ivan Avan,” he has gven a brief about the first part of the script to two of his assistants and has asked them to start writing it up. Unlike his previous films, Bala insists that he will complete Vikram’s film as quick as possible, by completing everything in 8 months.
Now we have to wait and see what new character we can expect from our Chiyaan!

Devan achieves a new record!
That’s right guys, I’m talking about the American born and raised singer/composer/producer Devan Ekambaram, who has hit songs to his credit from Oh Maria (Kadhalar Dhinam), Macareena (Kushi) and Anbil Avan (Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa).
The singer who has become music director composed some classy songs for a film called “Bale Pandiya.” This youthful film is directed by debutante director Siddharth and has Vishnu (Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu) and Piya (Aegan, Goa) in the lead.
The song to look out for is called the “Happy” song. This catchy tune has 20 singers in total and is touted as the Tamil version of the 3 idiots hit, All iz well. I’m not talking about a group of chorus singers. Devan literally has pulled off some of Tamil Cinema’s top singers all into one song.
The singers are Devan himself, Haricharan, Naresh Iyer, Naveen Madhav, Paravai Munniamma, Malaysia Vasudevan, Ranjith Govind, Aalaap Raju, Raqueeb Alam, Anuradha Sriram, Srinivas, Velumurugan, Manickavinayagam, Mukesh, Malgudi Subha, Divya Vijay, Anitha, Suchithra, Vijay Yesudas and Rahul Nambiar.
Phew, lost my breath. Since the song is one of its kind, the team have shot the song with all 20 singers in Pondicherry for 4 days. The reviews for the Bale Pandiya album are very positive and the album has many great numbers.
With a successful start as music director, Devan has bagged the precious role of music director again, for another film called Pattarai.
Way to go, Devan!
