Throwback Thursday #9

We hope everyone is enjoying the ‘Kadal’ soundtrack as much as we are! Within a few days of its release, the track "Elay Keechan" topped the iTunes chart, and our personal favourite "Adiye" has clocked up over 100,000 views in just six days! Read the full soundtrack review here.

We wonder if the movie will grab as many awards as some of the classic Mani Ratnam-Rahman collaborations of the 90s!

This week’s throwback goes back to 1992, to the first of those legendary collaborations, and A R Rahman’s debut – National Award-winning ‘Roja’, starring Arvind Swamy and Madhoo Bala.

‘Pudhu Vellai Mazhai’ is a musical and visual delight, with sensational vocals by Unni Menon and Sujatha and lyrics written by Mani’s poet of choice, Vairamuthu. This song has definitely has us dreaming of a white Christmas!
