Beautiful and enterprising, Soundarya Rajinikanth reaches her quarter century with impending nuptials. Her company Ocher Studios, signed an agreement with Warner Bros/Ad Labs, back in 2007 and has since worked on producing Tamil films.
With her maiden production, Goa (directed by the eminent son of Gangai Amaran, Venkat Prabhu), coming to fruition, it’s audio just launched and due to hit the silver screens at the end of January 2010, she also makes another big step in this new decade.
Her dream project, to animate the Father she has doted on all her life, is coming together, Sultan the warrior, India’s first big 3D animation movie, complete with music from double academy award winner AR Rahman, is flying towards completion.
Good news has been the flavour of the day at the Rajnikanth residence, with the elder sister, Aishwarya, who is married to Dhanush, expecting a 2nd baby, after their son Yatra. They got married in a high profile wedding, back in 2004. Rajinikanth also has the eagerly awaited Endhiran (by Shankar), with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, out this year.
Of the engagement, she says: “I have known Ashwin for a year now. You could call it a love-cum-arranged marriage. When I told Appa (Father) about my choice, he immediately gave me the green signal. It is with the consent of both families that the decision was taken and the engagement is fixed for February.”
Her groom to be, Stanford educated Ashwin Ramkumar, 27, is a well known businessman in Chennai and he is a 4th generation scion of the1948 established K S Venkatraman & Co Pvt. Ltd, one of India’s premiere engineering firms.
The plan is for an intimate engagement, celebrated with immediate family and friends, at the famous Poes Garden residence of Mr and Mrs Rajinikanth.
