The Markham Kothu Festival will be the largest festival in South Markham’s history! What better way is there to try out this popular Tamil food in all its glory.
This will be one of the best ways to kick off the summer season with family and friends. We will be having international entertainment throughout the day, so make sure you come out and celebrate in one of the world’s most ethnically diverse areas.
The festival is inspired by the infamous dish known as Kothu Roti popular for its distinct taste and flavor from Sri Lanka and India.

YPAM is a non-profit organization whose primary focus is the up bringing of learning for children and minimizing the communication gap for parents in order to help them make informed decision on their child’s education. YPAM acknowledges that many children have lacked with reading and comprehension skills in their younger years, which is a crucial stage in their life. YPAM works with both children and their parents to overcome these challenges, by integrating reading practices through social activities. Such approach is beneficial since it encourages thought-provoking discussions to keep both the child and parent engaged with reading. As a result, critical thinking and creativity skills are developed. The services offered by YPAM are offered to the community at no cost.
YPAM is hosting this fundraising event to bring awareness to the parents that such help is offered in the community. Also, to raise funds in order to enhance the existing program. Your presence is greatly appreciated to the event as we are anticipating over 15,000 people in attendance.
