£1,000,000 for Bodyguard

After a serious surgery in the United States, Bollywood star Salman Khan held a press conference before he flew to Dublin to commence shooting for his next film "Ek Tha Tiger" with Katrina Kaif. The nerve disorder Trigeminal Neuralgia had been plaguing the actor, affecting his spinal cord as well as causing intense pain across his face during daily activities such as chewing. It is a condition that the actor has had for a few years, but the unbearable pain has meant he chose to undergo two surgeries in the United States.

At the press conference in London, which the Thamarai team attended, a tired-looking but cheery Salman engaged in friendly conversation, despite being in a fair amount of pain. The actor shared his joy at the success of his latest film Bodyguard. The film made over £1million at the box office in the UK alone and ranked number 2 on the official Screen International chart, raking in a whopping $23Million worldwide. Why does he think the film did so well? "Because you all went to watch it!".

So, whose bodyguard would Salman be in real life? After taking a moment to ponder, the actor answered "Katrina Kaif" (his ex-girlfriend). When asked to shed some light on the rumours about his involvement with the Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth’s bipoic, he looked totally surprised and responded with "Kya hai yeh?" ("What’s this?"), before adding that he loves Rajinikanth.

A highlight of the conference was when the actor began to answer a question about Ash King from Southall, London – who sang the "I Love You" track from Bodyguard – without realising that the singer himself was in the room! "Make my job easier", quipped the actor, requesting Ash King to come and join him in the centre of the room. After a brief conversation between the two, the talented Ash King treated us to an impromptu version of his song, much to the delight of all who were gathered in the room.
